About Us
Who We Are
The Villa Treatment Center is a luxury detoxification, residential, and extended care treatment facility located in Woodland Hills, California. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment for those suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and co-occurring disorders.
Founded by a recovered addict, and staffed by compassionate and knowledgeable individuals who have all experienced the ravages of addiction firsthand and have successfully recovered, our sole purpose is to give everyone that comes through our doors the same chance to enjoy a happy and productive life – free of the bondage of addiction – that we have been given. We know what you are going through and what it will take to overcome because we have been there ourselves. Addiction is a disease that affects the mind body and spirit. We work on strengthening and uniting all three of these to restore the whole individual.
How We Began
In 1997, Georgia Frabotta, a person in recovery herself for over 23 years, began her life’s work of helping those still suffering from alcoholism and addiction find a way out by opening her first home for recovering addicts in North Hollywood, California. She called it Angel House. The idea was simple and clear: provide a safe and healing environment where recovering addicts could find a community and live in comfort and dignity while they helped themselves and each other recover from the devastating disease of addiction.
As the years passed and Angel House’s reputation as a true community of recovery grew, Georgia was able to extend the hand of hope and recovery further by opening additional sober homes in Woodland Hills and Encino called Angel Villa. Spurred by the number of successful recoveries and the lives she had personally touched, Georgia opened up The Villa Treatment Center in 2014 and most recently The Villa Outpatient services in December of 2015. While much has changed since her first sober home opened in 1997, the mission has stayed the same: to carry the message of hope and recovery to all who enter our doors, and build a solid foundation upon which those afflicted can build a new beautiful life free of addiction.
Our Treatment Center
The name ‘Center’ can be misleading. It implies a sterile cookie-cutter environment. What we really have is a Treatment ‘Home’. We believe that a large monolithic hospital setting is not the most conducive atmosphere for learning to break the behaviors and patterns of addiction. Most often, addiction is accompanied by an overwhelming sense of loneliness and isolation.
Our communal home-like environment enables clients to break down those barriers of isolation and learn – or relearn – how to share and interact with others on a sober human level, cultivating interpersonal skills that they can then apply to their relationships with loved ones at home and the community at large. The warmth of our home and our compassionate and knowledgeable staff cultivate a nurturing and constructive environment that most effectively allows our clients to experience the healing power of recovery.
Make Lasting Connections Here
The relationships we foster in recovery are incredible and crucial to our continued success.
When you meet people that suffer the same affliction as you and are on the same path to recovery, the bonds of unity that form to help each other towards a common goal is truly remarkable. Building a solid foundation of support and community starts at The Villa Treatment Center, where our communal home and group therapy sessions foster friendships and deeper understanding of our fellows in recovery.
